Blog, I will.

This is Yoda. He's a cheap ploy to grab your attention! (And he's a really cool toy I bought my husband for Christmas.)

Here is a project I'm working on. (And, no, I did not finish my wrist warmers. Yet.)

As you can see, it is a dish cloth. I'm making it for my mom. (She likes the color red for kitchen items.) I'm almost done.

Going with the red theme, I finished the scarf kit I received from Anne last week. (You know, one of those kits that comes with the yarn and needles.) Here it is!

The picture doesn't quite do it justice. It is BRIGHT. And very pretty.

I'm starting classes next week. I'm taking Yoga, Stress Managment and English 102. I am really looking forward to all three classes. Yoga actually starts this Saturday, and I am so psyched. I even bought a DVD of yoga, but...well, Denise Austin is the instructor. I haven't seen the DVD yet, but I'm a little wary. Denise is a little...peppy. Yoga's supposed to be relaxing. We'll see. I'll give my review at another time.

On Saturday I finally volunteered at the Maryland Ensemble Theater for the first time. They made me paint the inside of the theater. :( But it was okay. :) I got to meet some of my idols. (If I never mentioned it before, I've seen two shows at the MET and both times I were blown away by the actor's performances. That's why I decided I want to volunteer there.) Anyhow, I was up to my elbows in green paint. We were preparing the stage for the upcoming performance of "Betty the Yeti." The entire stage is made to look like a wooded area, complete with a giant burlap tree in the center of the room. Hopefully they will have more opportunities for me to volunteer in the future. (As an usher or something.)

Other than that, I haven't done much. I've been exhausted lately, so I've been napping in my free time. (Which is what I feel like doing right now!)

More at another time...

Happy Birthday to me...

Guess what...the 15th was my birthday! (But everyone celebrated on Monday...hahaha!) I turned 23...alright, 28. We went down to visit my husband's family. They were really sweet and bought me some flowers and a coffee mug (with some flavored coffees!) I had a great time and, most importantly, I didn't have to go to work on Sunday! (Or Monday night, for that matter.) Yes, this inconvienced my friend Shon, who, no doubt, had to pick up the slack for me this weekend. Don't feel bad, though, because she LEFT ME ALONE THE SUNDAYS BEFORE AND AFTER CHRISTMAS!!! (No, Shon, I will never forget!) Anyhow, a great time was had by all (except Shon). We played "Battle of the Sexes" and us ladies (Anne and I) lost three times. I think we were a little too kind to the men (my husband, John, and his dad, Bob). We gave them a lot of help, although they will swear the cards weren't fair. If you have never played the game, it is a trivia game in which the women are asked questions that a man would know, and vice versa. They (the men) swore their questions were too hard, while ours were easy. I admit it. Some of them were. For instance: "J. Lo. stands for ______." Here's one that was for them: "What color results from mixing white and red?" I kid you not. That was an actual question.

Well, here are some pictures of the fun. Enjoy!

ABOVE: Here I am, getting ready to blow out my candles, take a sip of wine, and ask a question from the game. (I'm a born multi-tasker!)

ABOVE: I know two people who do not want his or her picture posted. One is Anne, who I will not post a picture of out of respect. The other is my husband (the angry looking man above.) He is sitting with next to his dad, Bob. Since John doesn't view my blog, I think I'm safe. :)

Blogger is kinda acting up, so I'll post more pictures through Hello.

Yeah!

Guess what? I have a tutorial at Craftbits! I had posted on Craftster, a knitting needle roll I made for my friend, Shon. Someone from Craftbits saw it and asked if they could reprint it on their site. So, here it is, the Kimono Needle Roll! Woo hoo!

Alright, enough of that. I do have some pics to post, but, alas, I've been way too busy to knit. When I say busy, I mean I've been partying. I was invited out on Friday night to go out with a bunch of people at work, then on Saturday, my work held a party at Champion Billiards. I am so tired. On top of my recently busy social life, I got a new game for my xbox 360. (I know, the two should really cancel each other out.) My husband--I told you how sneaky he is--bought me the game "Gun" to keep me busy while he is online. I've been staying up late to play it, too. I am exhausted.

I took picture of my friends during the work party. Finally, you'll get to see some of the people I mention here. Here is the first picture:

From the left: Shon, Aubrie, me (greasy, chunky, and a little tipsy), and Danette. You know Shon, cuz I mention her often. Aubrie is a good friend of mine who frequently babysits my kids, and Danette is my newest friend. I recently made her daughter, Kennedy, a hat and scarf set.

No new knitting...

...yet. I'm still working on the wrist warmers from "Last Minute Knitted Gifts," and I decided to do the stuffed rabbit from it, also. So, soon.

I haven't been knitting b/c I got a present...a game console...xbox 360!!! (Yay!) And a game. Okay, you guys probably don't know this about me, and I'm a little embarrassed by it, but I am a little addicted to video games, so much so, that I avoid them. Why would I avoid something I love? I know what it does to a person. First, you lose hours and wonder how it's suddenly 2am in the morning. Next, you find yourself ignoring the twinge of pain in your bladder, telling yourself you can hold it just until you finish this last boss. Also, you lash out at family members as they beg for dinner, a cup of juice, or a diaper change. Yes, folks, its not pretty. I'm a geek...But I was reformed until my husband brought home the xbox 360. He also bought a game, which I beat in two days of (nearly) non-stop play. He's sneaky-sneaky, though, b/c it was a trick. The game console is there to distract me while he spends endless hours on his computer playing World of Warcraft. Online games like that are the crack of video games. Ever heard of a little game called "Everquest?" Some called it "Evercrack." My husband was addicted to that one, too. Most of the time, the affected doesn't realize they have a problem, or they become defense if someone tries to come between them and the game. It's all a very, very sad situation. By far, though, my husband isn't as attached as some gamers, who take whole weeks off of work just so they can stay in a dark room playing online with a million other strangers, most of which they will never meet. I personally hate online games. They scare me. And I don't play well with others. Enough about geeky persuasions. Back to the crafty.

I made another needle roll the other day. I decided to make a tutorial for Craftster. I'd post the address, but craftster is down right now. Here is the roll, though!
I'll post the address for the tutorial later, when craftster is back up. If anyone is interested in it, though, and they don't want to go to craftster for the info, let me know and I'll post it here. It's just huge and has a lot of pics, so I don't have the energy to post it again.

Happy New Year!

Guess what. I forgot to take a picture of that beautiful poncho I made for my niece. It's gone already. My parents visited for New Years and they already took it with them to go back down to Mississippi. Oh well. I do have pictures of them and of beautiful Harper's Ferry, WV. I'm going to post them through "hello" b/c blogger is kinda slow on the upload today.
